So I got tree sap on my knob from a redwood 2x4 while picking up my Leer 100xq yesterday.

I think I got it mostly clean with dish soap and some nail polish remover.

Any specific guidelines on tree sap removal from stainless?

Straight Acetone. Nail polish remover is pretty weak.

Yikes, that sounds hard-core. I'll take a closer look in the daylight today and see how clean it is. I don't want to trash the nice coloring work that was done to it.

Also, reversing a trailer, not nearly as easy as some people make it look. But 2low FTW at least. Though my buddy with AT DCLB sure didn't seem to know how to get it into R when he tried to back it up for me after getting frustrated that I botched it twice.

I don't remember what you did, was that red paint inlay? Depends on the paint I suppose. Acetone is going to take off just about anything available to the general public.

For the record, nail polish remover is acetone, it's just not as strong.

Yeah, not sure how the color was done, TacoBuc did it, red and black crayon I think? I kinda like it, at least for a lowly SS knob :) :) :)

Final update. I set the backups aside for now to focus on getting the main 30 out (31, actually). If you have not completed payment, now is the time to do so, as to avoid any shipping delays.
    20210510_055503.jpg

Mostly done here. I just need to get the tops engraved on the copolymer knobs, as well as all of the V2 collar drill/tap/engrave. With the unplanned 2 weeks away traveling for work and material shortages, getting to the finish line is a little more satisfying this time around.

All machining should be complete for what is seen here by Thursday, then still several hours (probably about 10) of polishing/cleaning remaining.

The first to ship will be the 4 at the very front right side here, V1 AT and V1 MT(recently redesignated V3 MT) as they just need polishing at this point. I ended up completely reversing my production schedule due to that stainless/brass order being super late. Annoying.

I will do another post later about what backups will be available.

Wow! Outstanding work Rick. Looks like the MT (V3) design evolution is the best yet and well worth the wait as an onlooker these past years. Hats off to your vision, skill and devotion.

Thanks! I'm super happy with it. This isn't polished yet, but here are a few pics. Never mind the grimey hand.

It's still sitting there in your PayPal, waiting. Somebody just paid on their deposited invoice already, so I know they are still active.
