Nice work on the tiny knob action!

We're just in the design phase now, so avoiding making any promises. Some are getting Ti radio knobs (very few, I have no time to make them), but this isn't a thing just yet. I want a design that speaks to me before I go making anything.

Huge no to the burnt Ti. What I can do for some is drill out the pin-hole and ship all the parts disassembled. Burn it, or have somebody else burn/anodize then assemble.

We should focus on getting to that "fuck yes that's the design we want" phase. Still open to ideas.

I do like this one so far, but I dunno ... we can do better. Anything worth doing is worth over-thinking.

I'd love to see a flat top with the same pattern on the sides of the knob as you have on the shift knobs.

Ultimately, it always ends up being attempt #42 that is perfection. We all know these things evolve, but I do have to be excited about it (initially). Right now I'm just excited about the idea.

I hear you, but I also know that you never engage the lathe until the idea is fleshed out.

I like both so far, but lean towards the knurled version more. It would tie in to the shift knobs aesthetically.

    What's the O.D. ?

    .9 OD (little over 7/8") , and a little over 1/2" thickness.

I generally do not like to knurl directly on Ti or SS, but these are small and I'd be able to start it in the air (relative to having to plunge into the material like I do on the shift knobs). Very doable, for a little while at least.

Those are nice, but a lot of engraving. I'm also not sure how well they would fit in with the Taco dash.

I do like this one and if you do the turning/boring on one side (lathe?), you can do the grooves & scallop cuts on the other side and face it off, and then do the drilled hole. All three setups would be fairly trivial.

I wonder how flats instead of the scallop cuts about 1.5X the depth of the grooves would look?

Yeah, I like the finer grooves though. In my head I had the flats being a little smaller than the chord of the OD segments.
