I'll be sure to tag you when I get a few finished. It'll be first come, first serve though.

Not sure how many people keep up with my OP edits, but it has been getting a little crazy with people disappearing on me after their 'knob of previous interest' is complete. I found myself sending an uncomfortable amount of reminders, so I just stopped doing that completely. One single person actually told me they were backing out, and that made me really happy believe it or not. Because knowing, is half the battle ...

Precious hours have been spent developing certain custom features (in lieu of machining to build inventory) that never made it to their requester, but I suppose the additional options will only help me in the future. Considering I have an incredible amount of options at this point, and no inventory ... I am just going to have to begin declining or even ignoring certain ideas until interest builds organically on the forum.

I get it, this product is going to be attractive to the impulse buyers out there. Then, by the time I am finished producing ... those types have moved on to something else. The answer is for me to obviously build up inventory, but that just ends up making me feel like a slimy salesman.

    ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Well that turned into a bit of a rant. Don't mind me, just learning as I go along.

The shapeways shipment that was supposed to come Saturday actually came yesterday. UPS transferred it to USPS and got it to me much faster.

I am VERY happy with the fitment for the boot connector. Here are some pics.

Understandable. If I were you I would charge up front for custom work.

Wish I could, but that is against site policy.

Too many "vendors" screwing people over on here, so I think it's pretty fair ... and really helps to protect the members. Just makes things a little harder on people like me.

Just wanted to say im happy with my Delrin/SScore hybrid. The quality is top notch, and the weight is perfect. Thanks again @7r41lbr34k3r.

    First one I've seen...very nice.

First real hot day for my Aluminium (bought in Feb) and she was a lil toasty on the palm today lol.

Not familiar with delrin...does it tolerate scuffing?

Not quite sure yet, i read on other forums that Delrin is pretty durable, and not hot in the summer. That's why I bought it.

    Nice!

Looks like you can probably tighten the boot area a little more to center the collar a bit. Try pushing forward while twisting/locking it.

I had a delrin knob on my truck for years, don’t remember any issues with scuffing.

But, like all things.. I try not to scuff them. :)

Outstanding workmanship! The collar fit looks better than factory. Cut a small piece of the material that was sent and a little anti-sieze on the shifter thread and fit no problems at all. You won't go wrong with this...makes me wish I had a MT instead of an AT. This would be fun to shift with on a MT! Thank you 7r41lbr34k3r! Many thanks for letting me borrow that chrome piece. I could not have done this without it.

Any word yet on titanium? I’m looking for a blued/burnt titanium looking knob with around 300g or less mass with your shift boot collar.

Don't forget about me!! I'm still interested in mine. Just waiting for you to say when and I can send payment! I'm also interested in any future knobs prefferably in a darker finish...like black. Thanks @7r41lbr34k3r

I can make the knob to those specs, but you would be on your own for the coating (for now, at least). Once my mill at home gets running (should be next week, hopefully), I will be able to produce at a much faster rate. When I build up a bunch of completed knobs I can start sending batches out to get a coating. Right now I can only make a few at a time, and this doesn't make things very cost effective for any of us.

Also, my knob would be pretty high in price relative to that WC Lathe Werks version(at least double), because I only have 2.5" Ti bar in stock, which I would have to charge more for smaller knobs until I can get some smaller diameter bar stock in. There are certainly some drawbacks to being in the early phases of this. If you are patient, the price will certainly come down in the future on my end.

Noted! I still have 2 delrin AT knobs partially done, but I need to put it together with the boot retainer to see how well the two plastics go together (aesthetically). I'm hoping there is no significant contrast, because that would suck. I suppose I could always just do a different color retainer, but that is obviously not up to me.

Looking forward to seeing how the delrin AT knobs come out.

Any thoughts about alternate profiles, like a more cylindrical style?

Yep, I can basically do any contour over 1.300" diameter for AT and 1.500" for MT (these are the diameters that blend with the boot retainers). I just need a sketch or picture to work with.

Engravings would have to be reworked, though ... just an FYI. The smaller the radius of the face, the more I have to scale the engraving down in size to account for the faster drop off (from center, for curved surfaces anyway). Flat surfaces are generally easy, obviously.
