The aluminum polished up nice just after one pass.

I will be sure to get the thread up this weekend. I made a bunch of AT shells today, so I think I am where I need to be.

Okay, so I'm pretty sold out of MT for the moment and mostly focused on AT as far as TW production stuff.

I do have one MT SS hybrid available. it has chatter in the ID threads of the shell, which won't affect anything it just looks like poop relative to a normal one. This was the first from the new bar of SS, and the back end was whipping around in the lathe spindle a little bit (as much as it could anyway, there wasn't much room), hence the chatter. I sawed it in half and was good to go. I might just toss this one if it doesn't sell soon. It will obviously be discounted for the flaw.

I finished @TeecoTaco 's Titanium knob today, but will leave it for him to show the pictures when it arrives. It was an exercise in patience, but did not give me any problems at all.

I also have another custom MT Ti knob that I need to focus on before I begin on general MT stock again. Also, one aluminum/delrin ring is in the works for another member that contacted me this week.

Custom orders are still welcome, but there is a bit of lead time at this point which seems to be increasing every day.

It has been a busy week to say the least ... and thank you all for your patience.

I will post the link for the AT knob thread, and then proooobably will need about 2 weeks or so before I fire this thread up again.

I rock a pure copper knob, ~500g. It doesn't hang on to heat like steel does (I was worried it would be worse, but it's been super mild). Total PITA to drill and tap though.

Unfortunately I'm stuck with the grommet... @7r41lbr34k3r not that you're taking orders, but if you come up with a more elegant boot-end/shaft interface w/o the knob, I'd be interested...

I guess the Toyota penis design is rather inelegant. Perhaps my future design can be hourglass-esque.

One of the custom jobs I am working on will just zip tie to the boot like the stock collar does.

What is this magic elixir that brings out the polish of said knob. I've an Al and an incoming Ti...would this work on Ti?

    It looks awesome

Yeah, I was just thinking the "penis-design" interface you've already modeled, just to a more finished top than the exposed rubber grommet I've got. But, either way...

I know I saw somebody on TW post an .stl of this type of boot connector (similar to what you've modeled), but I don't think it fit quite right and I'm too lazy to try and dial it in. Plus, PLA/ABS wouldn't be much of an upgrade to the rubber.

I know who you are talking about. I could design something in about 20 minutes and have it printed, but I do not want to step on his toes.

I'm pretty sure the file was posted up freely for public use, and while I could print one out as well, I'd be more interested in a nicely machined piece. I'd have bought your knob already if I hadn't made one myself last year. Anyway, I'll stop hijacking your sale thread now...

The adapter is literally me, a lathe, and 10 minutes. I can find time for that stuff any day.

Maybe I'm weird, but I still don't feel right about it. I'll PM him and hash it out.

My hybrid SS/Delrin arrived today. Got it installed as soon as I got home. It feels great. good size and weight. The plain surface matches perfectly with my black interior and TVD blackout kit.20180702_185033.jpg 20180702_184815.jpg

Dood, that looks good. That's the ss core?

Nondescript as hell, and the lines...they just work.

We are the so opposite, but we would likely drink well together :drunk:

Is that the new boot adapter config? Meaning removing the stock collar mount?

Yup SS core. Thanks. I am working on a total blackout theme. Extior is almost complete, (grille, de-badged, MESO ultimate turn signals all done), still need the BHLM. Interior is waiting on delivery of Hilux door handles.
Depending on just how far south you are in SW Ontario, we could definitely drink together. Heading to Windsor around second week of August
