Finally got around to taking pics of mine installed. I wanted it to look almost stock but when you get up close to know it's something special. And @74r1lbr34k3r absolutely knocked it out the park! I love it and have gotten many compliments on it already.

I got lucky with this photo, usually I'm terrible and have my gf do stuff like this for me. She had the table decorated like that anyway, so I took advantage.

Next business venture, possibly a brewmaster if I/we can find good real estate close to home. I already have partners/ investors with a 7bbl system ready to go, just need the planets to align. My area has literally nothing, but I worry a bubble is going to burst with how often these types of business are opening in the Lehigh Valley. All it takes is one hop crisis and it'll be a blood bath.

That's one reason I built the shop garage, can't leave machining fully, it's just "in my blood."

I was so gonna call you out on the decorating let alone the photog skillz lol...good on ya

Didn't know you were into brewing...im not, bourbon guy here. But have a question along those lines. Would it be possible to make the beer bottle caps out of Ti and shape them in the form of radio knobs, mebbe an engraving, you know to customize them...make em collectibles. Kinda like the lettered horses on the top of a Blantons Bourbon bottle stopper.

Cuz if you could, I'd buy two bottles of beer off ya!

Merry Christmas to you and yours ya lazy bastage!

Soon as I started reading this just knew there would be a request for Ti bottle caps.
    So predictable.... love the persistence!

He's getting good. This all reminds me of the guy on Reddit that hooks you in with some crazy back story/comment that always ends with his father beating him with jumper cables, haha.

Almost didn't make the post office today, had to stay late while the Mitsubishi tech finished up surgery on our lathe. Alas, the knobs went out and tracking info has been sent out.

Wrap your head around this, we paid $7,000 to upgrade to windows 2000 (from '95) on that thing, haha. If I added context it would make sense, but I cannot help but think of it that way.

It's fixed, but cripes ... I doubt the lathe would have been worth much more than that selling it completely off (It is 20 years old).

I have some unused shipping money to refund yet, but I'll do that in the morning ... spent for tonight.

That hurts my brain to think about. I held on to XP as long as I could. Thankfully Win10 is decent.

    Cereal?

Had I known you used a 32 bit extension and a graphical shell for a 16 bit patch to an 8 bit operating system originally coded for a 4 bit microprossessor, written by a 2 bit company that can't stand 1 bit of competition, to craft my knob...well, let's just say I wouldn't be pestering you for Ti radio knobs let alone my centerpiece.

However, I would have done it for you for 5k, and radio knobs...just sayin !

You clearly know more about electronics than I do.

The full story is there was a minor failure on a board in the main control, and Win 95 has no parts support so they just replaced the entire control unit with their Windows 2000 upgrade package. I mean ... my co would rather throw a bunch of money at things than actually look into the truth behind any of this. The tech thinks there was a cascade failure that took out the monitor as well, which was about $1700 of that total. When we fired it up on the old monitor it looked like a magnet vs. CRT battle had taken place.

I got to peel the plastic from the new monitor face, highlight of the week.
