My '01 Tacoma, Bertha, is about to get re-outfitted from leer cap and thule rack to an open bed with a MaxxTox ladder rack, for a more work-oriented build.

    (don't worry...I'm a certified Tacoma owner. That's just a stock image.)

But I still like to transport things dry in our somewhat rainy mountains up here. Rather than swap the cap on and off every time I switch from lumber hauling to dry goods hauling, I had the idea to fashion a waxed canvas cargo soft top that I can attach to the inside ala humvee as pictured below.

Thing is I don't think there is anything stock out there that would just happen to be the right dimensions. Short of making this into a DIY project, does anyone know of any suppliers/manufacturers of custom size cargo soft tops? Would be fun to make too, but I need to pick and choose my projects at the moment.

for now, you might be relegated to a marine canvas shop.

My Dad had a custom boat cover made once at a tent and awning company. It wasn't cheap I'm sure, but it lasted a long time.

yea I guess that's the option. given the likely expense, may be better just to swap back and forth. thanks
