Custom driveshaft vs traction bars?

    As far as the CalTracs goes...

    I get that it has heims so it allows some twist. I agree with that but I'm sorry it is a poor truck traction device. Maybe for something that has one job of hooking up in straight line only.

    One, it works in acceleration only unless that shackle is supposed to hit the frame when the pinion goes down.

    Two, it probably has harsh engagement unless it is preloaded against the spring. Both of which is bad.

    Three, it is pushing all of the axle force onto the leafsprinf in a way that the spring isnt really designed to handle. It is pushing against the part where only maybe the primary and secondary leafs are. That force is being absorbed by the spring and hanger. It should really be separated out and pushed into the frame or crossmember further away from the axle.
