    Good afternoon everyone.
I am wanting to put 2 full size Rockford fosgate t2’s, possible wanting the t3’s under the seat of a 2007 Toyota Tundra double cab. Will be building a custom box for the subs.

My idea is to cut the carpet and foam insert on the floor to add 3 to 4 inches of dept. The depth from the rear seat to floor is
5 1/4 inches which will total 9 1/4 inches. Wanting to cut the bottom of the rear seats to add more depth to build a enclosure for the subwoofers. What I want to know is if anyone has cut the bottom of the rear seats? How much could I cut to where the seats will still be useable?

If possible to cut without rendering the seats useless, this could add approximately 6 additional inches. This will allow for the seats to fold down and sit on the subwoofer enclosure and still function normally.

    Thank you for your input.

pretty sure theres a metal frame in the seats.. im sure if you cut anything it would feel different when sitting on it.. why not just mount them behind the seat.. i got a sub box with 2 12" subs (shallow mount) behind the rear seat and its perfect..

I don’t mind the seats feeling different when sat on. I’ve had JL 13.5 shallow subwoofers for 12 years, I can’t do shallow anymore , want more bass.

ah i missed the tundra part.. ya i got my speakers cause my brother in law wanted more bass lol.. he gave up the rear passenger side seat for a big box and 2 big ass magnet subs... its hard to sit in there without itching your eardrums.. but if you think its doable then go for it... you dont gotta sit back there anyway lol

lol true,, the rod in the back might be uncomfortable, but people in the back will have a place to sit. Will possibly cut all the way through and customize the seat cushions
