Decided to make a grill rather than buying one. Bought perforated sheet metal with 1/2 inch holes staggered as the background instead of mesh. The outside 1 1/2 is made out of .080 inch thick aluminum free from a friend.

Are you going to be selling? If not this is the wrong section. May want to ask a mod to move it so you get more helpful answers

Hard to figure what you are trying to do. I would just keep the lettering on sheet stock. Drill out vent holes in a pattern around the lettering. Done.

Dboz the lettering is just the size and spacing I figured out and it is cut into some junk sheet metal I had laying around. I ordered perforated metal that just arrived today that I will use as the black mesh area.
