I can’t believe the Great Wall Wingle is a real thing, haha! It is amazing how popular these crew cab quarter tons are worldwide. I live by Chihuahua, MX and see 4 door Rangers, Tornados and Volkswagens and all kinds of trucks not available here. I especially like the Ford “Lobo”.

Yeah, since my visit to Ecuador I’ve also done a bit more research on these global trucks. Peugeot just introduced their first pickup since the 504 pickup (not sold here in the US, only the sedan and wagon were) 30 years gone. It’s a Peugeot-branded version of the Chinese Dongfeng which in turn is a copy of an older Nissan Navarra (Frontier)! And from watching World Cup mountain bike racing, I’ve seen the latest from series sponsor Mercedes, the X Class, which is also a Nissan but with Mercedes diesel power trains. The new Peugeot will be built in Peugeot factories in Tunisia and Morocco; volume is expected to be at least 200K units annually. The new Ranger wasn’t very common in Ecuador ... the previous version in Mazda branding was everywhere, as well as lots of the original US style Ranger in Ford branding ... but the few I saw looked good. But my favorite was the VW Amarok, which is a conventional body-on-frame pickup like a Tacoma, but with much more elegant styling than the Japanese or Chinese trucks, or the Ranger.
Here’s a few more pics from Ecuador showing some of the older classics still on the road there:

The Great Wall Wingle in front of Willy’s American Food. Never guess you were in South America!

    Thanks for the pics.

Hey man this is a sweet rack ;) how much you reckon it cost to make. Would you be willing to make another one?

I really like it. Looks like the custom rack I had on my last work truck, 2016 GMC. I have the same truck that you have pictured, and I'd love one the same. My previous rack also had the full bed rails and I liked it. I have the same question...something you'd consider making again and selling?
