Yea definitely helps. Thanks. I have an otter box but it's the one with a hard shell on the back and rubber on the sides. I think it will fit.

I see two different Kensington holders on eBay. I see yours with just the sides that hold it. Then another one that has the bottom piece. So the two sides and bottom. Seems like that one will hold it better since you mentioned it falls out from time to time. Have you had any experience with that one?

I know this is an old thread but, I use a RAM-MOUNT and a Brodit-Pro Clip to mount my Iphone 4. I use that little pop out to the right of the steering wheel and put a screw and nut in the existing hole there. You can also hardwire the mount to your power and run it through that hole if you want a cleaner set up. I use a retractable cable into the power outlet so my front passenger can charge thier device while I still leave mine in the cradle if needed. You can cradle and charge iphones/ipod touches/ ipods with this mount. It swivels all directions and the ball system of the RAM mount make the arms completely and easily adjustable with the big turn knobs. I can easily unscrew the base of the RAM mount and pop that plastic peice back in and there is no drilling, etc.

I like this set up because it put my device right next to the steering wheel, it's almost at eye level so you are not looking down or too far away from the road when I used it as an ipod or as a map, voice calls, etc.

That ProClip cradle is pricey, but it slides down into the charging port and is solid. When its time to go, you just pull it straight out, no unclamping, etc.
