    Not in CA. It's a Shall-Issue State. It comes down to County Sheriff's discretion. We are allowed to keep and bear arms in our house and the freedom to use them for shooting/hunting.

    CCW isn't defined in the constitutional right, hence the push for new legislature for a nation-wide constitutional carry.

    And open carry is also illegal? Thats a freakin load, i had heard somethin about that but hadnt really read into it. I guess u cant go to another county and get a ccw.

    Yes, CA use to have open carry, but had to be an unloaded weapon. They outlawed it in 2012.

    You have to apply for a CCW based on the county you reside. Since I live in Sacramento County, I am fortunate to have a great Sheriff, who approves CCW. I have had mine for some time. My county issued permit allows me to carry state-wide. But if i lived an hour south, in Contra Costa County, its nearly impossible to even apply for one.

    Where I grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area and other areas of CA, its nearly impossible. Last i checked there were only a dozen CCW permit holders in the county where I grew up.

    I don't necessarily disagree. I am a huge gun rights proponent. However I feel CCW and carrying in public should only be allowed by certain people with the training to do so. Simply owning a firearm shouldn't be reason enough.

    The constitution allows us to buy and own firearms to protect our property. When we are out in public we aren't on our own property and an untrained individual can be just as dangerous as a criminal in a shootout. Itchy trigger fingers are never a good idea.

    Would you be able to make one that I could fashion to my seat? I've got the Tacoma (obviously) but I also have a Prius and I want to be able to holster it in both while driving. I'm thinking I want to put it between my legs so I can grab easily and not have to deal with sliding my hand thru a narrow side on either side :notsure:

    Need to do some research and see if anyone else has done something similar. I know some of the seat covers come with a pocket for a gun but not sure the location

    Yeah ive looked at a few of those... Prolly goin with somethin like this on my next build, but as long as i can get a gun local and have some idea of what the wants are i feel like i can do about anythin

    I'd probably be down for a couple of those for 1911. One is 4" Commander, the other is fullsize 5" but I'm sure both would fit as long as the bottom is open. Both would be right hand like the one pictured.

    I don't think it matters that much because the character dimensions really don't change much except for the rail guns and the double stacks, etc. One is a Ruger SR1911, on is Kimber CDP II, one is a Taurus PT1911, one is a Springfield Micro Compact, should I go on? I think we own 7 or 8 1911s, I gotta count em now.:eek:
