How do you guys remove the tiny map light bulb without breaking it?

Pull the entire surround down. Then it'll all make sense. Just keep working it.

Yup, it's scary but just keep working it with your fingers. Start at the map lights and work your way up.

I was able to just pull the overhead console out with just my hands. Have faith. Close your eyes. And pull! Nothing will break

Edit: now both lights won’t turn on FML

I had the same problem. Make sure the metal prongs coming out of the white socket insert are really touching the brass connections on the OEM socket. Mine kept moving to the side when I pressed it in at first

I’ve damn near tried everything, still doesn’t turn on. Gonna throw in the towel for the night and try and continue tomorrow.

Also had this same issue at 1st but for me it was ultimately the brass contacts on the oem socket not making contact to the board. I just bent them up slightly & all was good. Hope this helps...

Is there as polarity issue? First time I put mine in they didn’t work. Flipped the spring around and all was fine. Could be that my connection was bad the first time though.

Make sure red positive wire goes towards the drivers side & spring adapter is actually sitting on the connectors. Mine kept slipping to the side but I didn’t notice at first since I was installing in the dark with a flash light. It wasn’t so dark after though. These things are bright!

The Maps and Dome are definitely Polarity Specific.
