    And to who every on here put the pics up of using SHRINK TUBING to pull the map lights out, GREAT CALL! ( the tape method probably would have worked also. But I'm an electronics monkey, so I have lots of think tube!)

    And mesojdm ! I liked the little spring loaded connector to take the place of the dome bulb. Were did you ever find those? Iv'e never seen those before.

    They're "festoon adapters". They've been around, but I agree. They're a definitely a neat idea

    Yea, they are definitely different but what's nice is they are bright enough to actually work as a light for finding things in the dark. 99% of the time for us it's to read the Chinese take out menu on the way home from work.

    However....

    When I pick up the wife at work downtown there are always a lot of passersby walking on the sidewalk. Since its summer all the windows are down, and I have the dome set to come on with the maps when any door is open. So the effect is very eerie. The reactions of the people are always the same. They stare in confusion since here is this grey hair business looking guy getting into (of course being a gentleman I walk my wife around to the streetside passenger door and open it for her) this somewhat radical looking truck with the demon red interior. Lolololol

    The sun is jealous of my white dome, my interior is fading, I have to wear sunblock in the truck, I scared a light sensitive child across the cul de sac & I bet they'd work great as grow lights. Seriously, I'm old but don't need half this much light to see. I'm gonna see about OP making some single panel domes and use the double panel ones for back up lighting, bed lighting or ditch lights. :D Great product and looks much cooler than oem.

    My little kids were in the backseat and I turned on the maps and they turned their heads and started squinting and telling me ‘daddy that’s too bright’. And I didn’t buy the dome for that very reason.
