They look sooooo goooood! I can't wait!!!!!!!! Mine should be here very soon!!!! :goingcrazy:

Any insight on the installation @cemented ? I've read some pull the side closest to the front, and others have said to pull down on the side closest to the rear of the truck.....I have interior trim tools too. Or just grab and pull like the mirrors?

My methods are not the methods to live by, but they get me through the day. I used a pocket screwdriver to pry the lenses out on the edges front and back closest to the switch. I have extra hose lying around that I squeeze over the end of the bulb and then I can pull the bulbs out that way(similar to the tape method people use). The other option that is also easy is just removing the console. BIG REMINDER to double check and make sure you have the new bulb socket in the right polarity(they only work in one direction=LEDs) BEFORE you put the new map light in. A little bit of testing will save you a lot of headache later on. I think if you pull from the rear of the console it comes out pretty easy, but I've never had to remove mine. Everyone has their own way at making it easy.

Got mine installed yesterday. Wish i had the black overhead panel, they definitely blend in better with all black, though I'd miss my sunglasses holder...

I just use duct tape to remove the bulbs... Then insert the meso lights... Easy. A couple minutes tops.

I like em. Better than the clear plastic lenses for sure. I already had led bulbs in here. These are not quite as bright, but it's not a huge difference, and definitely brighter than stock bulbs.

    Great work Meso!

If you really want to fix the color and blending in... you can get a black overhead with sunglasses holder. Mine is just that, though my current shades do no fit in there. Try checking salvage yards in your area for totaled 3rd gen tacos to save a bit of cash to "go black"

Does yours look like mine just black? Or are there other differences too?

There are a few black overhead consoles on eBay. I think all black would look much better

Mine is all black, only other difference is I have a big hole in my roof so the buttons to control it being open or closed are on the right side in the middle.

I found one on ebay exactly like mine but black... For 140 shipped.... Meh... I'll rock it the way it is for now and check salvage yards here and there... I won't pay more than 75 total for this. Id just keep it like it is...

I do think all black would look better... But I'm not bothered by how it looks now.

$10-20 you could pull it and paint it. Prolly 2-3 light coats color and 3-5 clear.

Dunno how it would wear, but it would definitely be a budget friendly option. As always with paint, take your time prepping and painting to get best results.

Here is a great short writeup on paining trim like this. I have used SIM on my 2000 F-350 and it has held up great for about 15 years now. I painted some A pillar gauge pods that are in the sun much of their life.

Yea, I'd think some of the rattle can paint made for plastic/resin outdoor furniture would be all you'd need. Heck makes me wonder about painting the A pillar trim. I hate the two tone look.

Done! Had some issues with the left led not lighting up for some weird reason but after making sure the wires were snug it now works perfectly! Thanks can’t wait to try this out this evening!
