Custom LED Map and Dome lights

Well I got the White Maps and installed the Red Dome today. So I will have a mix going on. But to be honest I wanted to see which I preferred, as well as having both options avail.
Also bought the White Dome just to have to ability to roll that way.

 

Not docking the red, of course its not my preference. But whats the rage with red?

 

I'm with ya. I wanted white and had to figure out why it kept saying my cart had been modified. Apparently I had to select red, then select white to make it work. Either way, got myself a set of whites so I will actually be able to see things in there at night!

 

Remember back in the day, when you were a kid and had that green flashlight with the 90 degree bend. It came with colored lenses.
The red one was for night vision, giving your eyes less strain from going from pitch black or dark to lit.
To be honest, it’s really for someone that goes back and forth from turning lights on and off frequently. I do a whole lot of camping out of my trucks, like 12 days out of each month. It makes a difference for me. But like you said, it’s personal.
Try using a red lit headlamp sometime, and see if the affect is worth it to you.
Helps around a campsite when talking with people and not blinding them with light.

But it’s so much more fun to blind people at camp!

For me I almost never turn my map or dome lights on, so red would be a waste for me. I really only turn them on when I need to find something I dropped and most of the time I end up having to get a flashlight out of the console to see anyway
