Custom LED Map and Dome lights

Hey @mesojdm so I have installed both your map and dome lights in my 3rd Gen. I am looking to get the vanity lights from vleds but wondering which white you went with in your map and domes? Wanting everything to coordinate properly. Thank you in advance

 

Any hint on the map lights ETA? My LED dome is lonely

 

Having installing both, I think if you install the map lights or dome light that will be suffice. My current setup is ridiculously bright.

 

It definitely does fine missing the map light, I just want the complete set

 

I just have the dome light installed. At night when I hit the key fob to lock the doors, I always have to double check that my windows are up. That thing is so bright it makes me think my windows are down and I have tint on my windows. Great product.

I hope I get them this time. I want to do 1 red and 1 white. If anyone is down to go in with me shoot me a PM.

 

I think I might do the same, but am holding off until we find out if the 2020's will have LED lighting upgrades inside besides just the headlights outside. Do you know if the meso map lights are universal left to right? In other words are they driver/passenger side specific or can they be swapped back and forth? Would make it more difficult to do 1 & 1 with multiple people.

 

As far as I can tell from installing them Sunday they are a left and right set so if your going to swap make sure you are both ok with what side is red and what side is white. Kind of wish the cover still fit over them as they blind me when I sit down lol.

 

How is everyone ordering a red and white map light? Are you simply buying two sets, or is meso working with you.

Is the red map lights bright enough to read text? Let’s say passenger reading while driving. I was originally thinking about doing red dome light and white map lights, but now wonder if I should do the opposite. Would hate to wait all this time to be in stock and not be 100% satisfied with my choice.

 

Buy both and then sell what you don't use. I have red maps and dome. They are plenty bright to read text.

 

So far meso hasn't offered a "one of each" kit for the map lights, so you'd pretty much have to buy two sets if you want that. Sounds like you can't even split with someone since they are different on the driver vs. passenger side, unless you both agreed you wanted opposite of each other (one person has red D & white P, other has white D & red P).

 

the LED boards can be removed and swapped. They just snap in.

 

Great, good to know! So it looks like doing a 50/50 swap with another person, if you both want one of each with the same orientation, is back on the menu!

 

I personally don’t care what side is what. So it would be easy for me to split with someone. I just want one red. Either side you put the red on will be enough to illuminate the other side.

But yes you would have to buy 2 sets.

My other thought that if we have 2 people trying to buy them at the same time we have more chance of succeeding and if we happen to end up with extra we could share the wealth with someone who didn’t get as lucky.
