Custom LED Map and Dome lights

Ok I reset the switch and the map lights shut off. Thank you very much.

Unfortunately, the LED’s did not turn out so well for me. Maybe the new dome and map lights will be better quality.

 

Where is this map light reset button you speak of? Are you referring to the switch that gets pushed when you press on the map light to turn it on/off?

 

Arrived today installed. Everything seems good Cant wait until it gets dark. I have fat fingers and the dome was a little tricky with that spring thing. Got it in didn't work so i reversed it and all was good so far.

 

Anyone got a spare set of red maps and dome? @MESO are you sold out or are still getting caught up on orders then reopening them?

 

I got the white but have other mods in front of me getting reds. Them I will get in line on the red waiting list.

 

Put sylvania leds in all my interior lights, not a single issue. May not be meso which I admit look great but apparently more issues than they’re worth it seems.

 

Everyone has something to say about it BUT apparently it’s working extremely well for him!

I highly doubt there is a reset button- it’s as you said push the damn thing in to turn it on or off. Most of these “problems” are user error. I know there will be some defective parts on such a large order (as with any product you buy) but stop all the pitching a fit like a little school girl and email the man rather than bitch about it in the thread… damn get your adult on!

I had a faulty dome bulb adapter but you won’t see that post on this thread (because that’s not how you contact a company). Just saying

 

It's not specific to MESO's LEDs and it seems to only be a problem for a very small amount of people. My recommendation of killing power to the lights before the map/dome bulb swap was simply to help people avoid this potential issue.

 

The only one pitching a fit is you.

I did contact him and he thanked me for reporting honestly as it helps him with QC - which apparently is what the problem was with mine. The connections on the wires were not making contact. I had to mess with them and re seat everything. They aren’t perfect but at least I got them working even if intermittently.

This may help someone else having similar issues. We don’t just fan boy here. We report accurately and try to help each other out including good manufacturers like Meso who want to improve their products and ensure their customers are getting the best they can.

 

I did disconnect my battery before the install by the way. Having said that, I now don’t think it makes a difference as eventually you’re going to have to reconnect it at some point in time and if there is an issue you won’t know till you do anyway.

 

5:45PM - I get home to find a little white box of goodies in my mailbox with "MESO" on the label.....

5:55PM - Holy shit these things are bright. Installation was a breeze, literally 10 minutes. I do agree it would be nice to not have the .1mm header in the middle. I'm assuming this was to keep the bulb socket adapter modular which I can 100% understand. It does add some bulk, but everything fits with no issues. I may just mod these myself, solder them, and shorten the wire a bit. Fit and finish otherwise is top notch and they look way cooler than the OEM units!

6:12PM - I'm opening my computer to work on some drawings and the email from ShipStation tells me my package was delivered.....

Just to update. In a PM conversation with Stew, he mentioned that sometimes the oem brass connectors don’t squeeze against the plug tight enough and I think that is the issue I am having with the one side.

If I push against the wires to one side a certain way they will work probably because I am forcing them to seat tighter against the brass. So something to look out for if you are having issues with them working intermittently.

 

The purpose of killing power is to prevent an accidental short, static discharge, etc.

 

Yes but if there is bad connection somewhere it will short as soon as you connect the battery back up is all I’m saying. . .

So your problem was part user error (pushing in the actual map to turn on/off that’s the “reset button” correct? if there actually is a reset button show me and I’ll eat my words) and a bad part.

Did you even read anything I posted or just quick to shoot off at the mouth- I wasn’t “fan boying” when I was talking about getting your adult on and email direct (if you did that great)

And yes we report accurately so when you were complaining about it not shutting off and it was hot and it screwed up your truck and now you have to return to stock to take to dealer… that specific problem was the cause of installing these leds? Or was that user error not pushing in the light to turn off. It sucks that the other loose wire problem happened BUT it happens (as I explained it happened to me too) getting frustrated was part your problem! Talking smack right out the gate “you would not recommend these” - because you got a defect, IT HAPPENS “more headaches than it’s worth”- id hardly say that was constructive or helped anyone ESPECIALLY when you didn’t give your email a chance to be responded to for a resolution.

 

The email tends to send out later than when he lets people know here...I never got the email this time and was traveling and forgot to check TW

 

I just got my ultimate dome lights I was installing in the rear one and that spring thing that seems a little cheap to me it made A spark and now none of my interior lights work

 

You most likely blew a fuse

 

I checked the fuse under the dash that’s not it

 

Any other help would be greatly appreciated
