Mine is doing the same thing. Driver side one press changes color. Passenger side is a two press every now and again to change color.

At first install passenger side was staying on red , flipped the plug around and swapped it to the drivers side and it was the same thing.

Said the hell with it and just installed it and would deal with it later. Popped everything back up and then it started flipping from red to white :notsure:

Both work , and change colors. So I can deal with the two presses from time to time.

I get yelled at all the time for my code needing two clicks when the client only wants one. I am not about to complain about it myself.

Oddly I think dual brightness might be my pick for maps. Low (2 LED’s) for normal use and high if needed. But max bright up front just doesn’t seem important once you have the dome. I’d probably go for full rgb color choice with everything on low brightness as the ultimate. Maybe random order even.

I honestly may revert to stock with chintzy led bulbs. I think I liked that the best overall. This is one spot where the lens makes sense as a diffuser.

my wife laughed at me last night when I took her out for fancy dinner. I guess she knows I’m still 12 years old.

I love the dome though, it’s perfect.

Sneaky bug in the system. I gotcha. The main time I need to switch to white from my default of red is when I check my Taco Bell orders in the drive-thru so I'll survive :anonymous:.

I just figured out what was going on with my passenger side.

When they come on the drivers switches back and forth as it should.

When I go to switch the passenger side , it switches to red and stays red. I have to actually press the light to the “ on “ position then the dual color will work.

Not sure if you have seen this issue yet , but wanted to give you a heads up Meso

Yeah it’s definitely a weird issue. I submitted a ticket on his site.

Took me a minute playing with it to find out that I had to press the light to get the dual function out of the passenger side.

I finally got to drive the Taco today. Even though the weather is epic, I couldn't wait any longer. The lighting was absolutely killer and perfect. Thanks a ton!

    :hattip:

BTW on the double pump, the DC dome did it yesterday, but not the maps.:rofl: I think it is just a feature.

12? Geez. I've matured a lot in the last year or so. I'm just about up to 5.

Same happening with my dual color maps, I have to double tap to change color, unless I switch right back after changing color. Not a big deal, just wanted to pass on the info for the purpose of R&D. Very happy with @MESO products. ✌

Try pressing the actual map light on , then press the dual color button.

That’s similar to what happened to my passenger side light.

Send me a PM with order number. Had some domes that had voltage tolerance where they were finicky under ~11.5V. Which is why it works when truck is running(12+Volts). But when off it’s less voltage. I have one that will work for you!

What did you use to remove the original light bulb in the map lights?

My headphones wires lol. It was small and gripped. I looped it around the bulb and pulled it out. This was over 5 years ago

I would suggest pulling the whole console off to get the bulb. Way easier.

Go to about 38 seconds into this video to learn how to pull down the overhead console:

All: for those who reconnect the battery, but no maps or dome lights, make sure to open/shut the door. The lights will timeout after disconnecting the battery, and the only way to get them active again is to open/shut the door. That, and make sure the switches are on of course! (Including the push switch on the actual map lights).
