I think you have to Unsub from all the other threads you are sub'd to.

I notice too that if I am in a thread, and then look at my alerts, and go to those that I will ultimately receive an email much later. The email server notification is definitely not instantaneous. I even try clearing the pages on my phone and deleting all notifications.

I am so paranoid though and can't trust anything but camping here hitting refresh every other minute.

Because we are on different coasts I literally drive home at the end of the day with my phone in my hand knowing I might have to pull over on the side of the road. The wife commutes with me and thinks I am crazy but she understands my desire so she accepts the madness.

 

I wish my wife was that understanding lol

 

Not to put a crazy idea out there but why don't you hand her the phone to do your business?

 

As for me, I wouldn't want her to see how much I'm spending on things I don't "need"
