Custom Rear axle, VSS and Tcase issue

Has anyone swapped a Worm gear into a newer manual transfer case?
I am running a 2016 4runner manual shift transfer case in my 2008 AT Tacoma. I have a full float rear axle and need to figure out a VSS as the tone rings dot not work from an older land cruiser like I used.

I pulled apart a spare bastard transfercase i was given that is a Manual FJ with an Automatic input shaft installed.. but the splines on it were longer vs the 4runner.. I have not checked my old factory case but assumed the worm gear is the same and the splines are shorter..

I think i am out of luck and need to just find a FJ case and replace the 4runner one im using... sucks as its already modded for my twin sticks and only has maybe 6k on it now.
