I remember a thread very much like this one recently that got shut down. As soon as the OP started selling them the mods cried foul. Might want to make arrangements in preparation for that. Look for another venue to handle that. If it comes to it.

Well, as long as the finished product doesn't look anything at all like anyone else's we'll be ok. Otherwise, don't get your hopes up.

Yea, I think most R&D takes at least a hundred tries before all the bugs are worked out. I could drive to the shop and donate a very expensive lunch to test it on my truck. And I have a roof Light Bar already mounted to my OEM rack. We could R&D the shit outta that mounting up too.

Naturally, to play it forward I will be donating my OEM rack to some lucky Tacoma owner that really needs one but doesn't have the money.

Yea, the mods are not big on any money making venture unless you're a certified vendor/retailer. Plus I would rather not buck the system. Outright.

No I'm from a very strange land east of that where people want to separate from everything and eat poutine all year long.

Cheese curds and gravy on fries... did not seem all that appealing to me, even if they did sell it at McDonald's

That's probably the worse poutine you can get lol It's also alright if you love poutine but can't finish one, I never do.

There's not secret receipe, just get the best tasting cheese and gravy you can find and make your home made fries. Cheese curds can't be just out of the fridge either, they need to be room temperature so they melt once your pour the gravy on it. Avoid gravy that is too salty.

That's enough off topic for today now haha

    I prefer buffalo cheese fries...

Wing sauce over fries top with cheese and Bacon bits, pop in the oven to melt the cheese ..

Although you did make poutine sound edible.. may have to try it afterall

That looks a lot like a poutine... But that's the whole point about the poutine, you make your own, which reminds me of pizza.

Gravy is the standard sauce but IMHO, any other sauce is alright too. Same with cheese, it doesn't have to be curds, you can make it with blue cheese if that's your thing (tried it, not bad). You then add whichever topping you like, I personnally love Popcorn chicken, bacon and/or sausage.

@RobP62 Yeah I spoke with GMartin84 in my initial stages.. and saw the thread. I'm only designing this for myself right now. I plan on making cardboard mockup #3 tonight and I am still waiting on a second quote. I don't think I'll have to make any more mockups.. right now I just have to make sure I clear the sharkfin with the back-most cross bar. I am going to try and cut T nut holes in the cross bars today on the mill. Should be fun!

    Mornin' Luke,
Believe me, I'm definitely not pissing in your cheerios in an attempt to discourage you. I for one am on the side of ingenuity, creativity, and also capitalism. I just wanted to point that other thread out to keep the same from happening here.

I think there are subtle differences you could design into your rack to keep that from happening.

For instance. What about a clear piece of poly or lexan for a wind deflector that is painted on the back with an area left clear for a light. Or what if your sides were an angled L shape so they were wider on the bottom and angled in at the top. Lastly, what if that aft most crossbar was formed to go around the shark fin?

These things might add a little expense but would also be very unique and set your rack apart.

I've been planning on the lexan deflector forever when I ultimately buy whatever rack. Just makes more sense to me.

Keep up the great work! I think what you're doing is wonderful and very inspiring!

There is a good chance you will be able to unload it in the future. Just not through here. Stay tuned!
