Honestly I looked at sliders for so long before actually building these I'm not even sure anymore. They share similarities with a few different brands. I wasn't trying to reinvent the wheel, just picking the things I liked and combining them for a custom setup.

Sounds good. Personally I would atleast reinforce cross meber that Toyota reinforced "fixed" in 2009 trucks. You have DBLB like me so your frame probably flexes as badly as mine. Those sliders probably weight a lot by itself. I would worry about tearing paper thin cross member.

I will have to look into that when I have time. Cross members will be easy to make. Thanks for the heads up.

Nice job, what kind of tube bender did you use and which method did you use to notch the tubing?

I used a Tube Shark with the pneumatic over hydraulic pump. I notched all the tubing with an air grinder and thin cut off wheel. The round to round 45's I printed from the web and the round to square I used the guess and check method then made a wrap out of butcher paper so that I could duplicate them.

Those look really great. I'm thinking about a similar project this winter, need to take advantage of my access to the college's crazy ass machine shop before I graduate.

If you don't mind me asking roughly how much steel did you use and how much did it cost?

Thanks. I'd say I used about a stick and a half of square tube and about the same of the round. Hard to say exactly as I had material from my bed rack build so I used remnants for a lot of stuff. Both material types were around $3/ft. So probably $200 worth of materials roughly.

Great job and they look great, I just put a set on my 2011 from All Pro, that look like the set you made, bolt on. I sprayed mine with about 6 coats of Hammerrite paint, after sand blasting them, great paint.

Thanks i used hammerite on my bed rack and it is holding up alright. I didn't sand blast though. The stuff i used on the sliders sucks so far. Gonna recoat with something different.

The hammerrite worked well for me on the slider but, cut with thinner if you spray it on. The can said to use it stright but, I found
it was too thick for my spray gun. It left a nice shell on the metal, 6 coats. Also if you ding the sliders, hammerrite comes in a spray can for quick repairs. Better then power coat

Think I'm going to use the rustoleum bed liner in the spray can based on recommendations in another thread here. I don't have a spray gun. The stuff I used has held up really well on the wheels on the wifes subaru, its just not up to the constant barrage of rocks my tires throw at the sliders.
