Thanks Oskie :) you gotta start by figuring out what firmware your iPhone is. Go to Settings>General>About

Shouldn't be any different. I'm off work at 5:30 PST and can walk you through jaulbreaking if you'd like. Do not upgrade the firmware on your phone though between now and then :D

Just depends on your firmware and whether or not there is a jailbreak available for it

This is cool I just got mine too or i'd jailbreak now.. Does it void the waruntee or do you just update the software to wipe it out and then you can send it in again if you break it?

It will void the warranty. It changes some of the iPhone's root folders, and they aren't completely wiped out when you remove the jailbreak (unless you know what you're doing)

Awesome work! If I had known about this sooner I wouldn't have updated to 4.3.3. Do you know if there's a stable jailbreak for it?

To my knowledge, not yet. But the Dev team is working on a GreenPois0n jailbreak, which is best IMHO.

Canadian Girl, you planning on doing the jailbreak?

FYI, you're not hurting Apple by stealing apps, you're actually hurting app developers.

But I guess iOS users don't look at it that way...? I know developers on all sorts of platforms, and it's funny how rampant piracy is with stuff that's closed source...

Don't want to start a war here. Just food for thought. I understand 'jailbreaking' for wanting to be able to do more (same reason rooting is so nice on Android) but free apps? C'mon man.

The pirate, preaching against piracy...

My Uncle does graphics for Sony, and people download his movies all day.

I do understand how it works, and I have paid for apps and music in the past, and still do if it's something I'm legitimately interested in. But if it's one that I honestly am only gonna use for the night so I can play a couple games of WWF with my friend (which is free with ads), then so be-it.

iOS has a try-before-you-buy program, no? I'm not really familiar with that platform.

Android, you can 'return' a purchased app if it's not up to snuff. I think they reduced the time in which you can do that tho, it used to be an hour and I think it's something like 15 minutes now... Not sure tho.

Those ad-blockers for apps too will just cause devs to not release free apps... Oh well. Just ironic that it's soooo easy to pirate apps on iOS, and when you root an Android device it doesn't magically give you access to all apps for free lol.

I honestly haven't looked into a "try before you buy" type thing for Apple, but from what I know, no.

But yeah, iOS is basically a joke. I only use my phone for Calls, Texting, and TW. With the occasional photo mixed in every now and again. haha.
