Softtopper. Custom rack to go over the Softopper.
I made it happen. Happy with the the end result. I couldn't find a rack that would give me the option of being able to keep my softopper on while having a rack that will allow it to collapse back for storage if I need it. And to be able to remove the crossbars to allow larger items to fit inside the truck bed. I didn't want the rack to be in one piece, I made it possible so that one person can easily set the rack in place. All the materials used here in mild steel: 1 1/4" Schedule 40 pipe (frame, crossbars), 1 1/2" Tubing ( mid bars), 10 gauge flat bar ( bent the length of the bed) KeeKlamps to keep crossbars tied down.

    NICE

A "little busy" with the horizontal bars, but that's just me!
A "swing away" stoweable rear cross bar, and your rack is IDEAL to me. I have been looking at industrial hand rail fittings, but those strap type connectors make a lot of sense.

Does the rack drive without a lot of clanks and clatter?

I'm gonna steal a lot of your methods and elements! ;-)
