That link shows how to take the entire truck apart. I just need to take out the lower switch panel.

Unfortunately it's a process. That is the way to remove the switch panel.

To get the the panel, the truck comes apart. Then you get to take a saw to your brand new truck!

Yeah, not a project for the faint of heart. It hurt to chop apart my (at the time) 6 month old truck. Especially given the replacement part from Toyota is $250. But it was well worth the time to do it. Meso's panel looks flawless down there!

There’s a little tab/raised piece that you just push down and the whole thing pops out.

It wasn’t quite that easy. I had to cut it out of the old panel and almost break the new panel shoving it in. I’m gluing it all together now.

That’s crazy. Mine almost fell out on its own. 2018 may have different tolerances. Who knows. Glad you got it worked out! Go heavy on the glue. Don’t want to have to re-do the whole process to re-glue it down the road

There’s an extra plug hanging down there. It wasn’t hooked to anything when I pulled the dash apart.

Not abnormal luckily. Toyota wires their vehicles for darn near everything, even if it doesn’t have that particular feature. I have wiring behind my panel for parking sensors/BSM but I don’t have those things. As long as all your buttons are plugged in, you’re all good! And the light that shines over the wireless charger.

Hey, I'm back and ready to do whatever i need to do get that custom lower panel from you. I'm about to go down to Toyota to pay for a whole new piece for that section so I can put the buttons in the way I normally would. Instead of the duct tape, zip ties and campaign sign I am currently using.

I did that more as a joke, but now the joke is on me, because I'm sick of looking at it like that. :infantry:

Let me know what you can do for me @mesojdm and name your price. I know there are a few other people on here who have said the same about making a plate for the 2018.
I'd really like to avoid buying another oem piece and would prefer to just buy one from you for the same price even.

Also interested in the sunglasses holder button console as well. Really wishing I went with the Switch pros instead of the SPOD I already have. If worse comes to worst I'll probably just buy a switchpro and start over I guess with the panel you already make for those. But I would prefer the 5 tall on top with cargo light, ac switch, auto lights, and manual clutch cancel switch spot on the bottom.

If it doesn't all fit then I would be delighted with just the four tall on top.

I know you're busy @mesojdm and I understand completely if it will be awhile before you can get to any custom stuff.

Not much post processing, just bead blast after print. Then I hit it with interior SEM paint for a textured look.
