Personally I am great, however work says I'm not ready yet (trouble climbing steep stairs with a load) and the doctor says I am 100%. However I am chasing everyone around. Glad to hear you are doing so well.

Wow Judy I didn't know you had a knee replacement, damn that sux.

But I do know a little about knee surgery having approx. 5 proceedures on my left knee (which for some odd reason most people have problems with the left) I've had the medial & lateral release & removal of both cartilages (no cartilage in my left knee at all ) my left leg is 3/4 inch shorter than my right & this hasn't been too much of a problem except when I attempted bowling where balance & lead off footing was really bad so bowling is out, no biggie since I bowl like shit anyways. But yeah regaining range & motion is key for successful outcome & it hurts like hell during PT, I can relate & as I'm sure you've been told by your orthopedic surgeon that ya gotta forge ahead thru the pain not only to try to get back range & motion (hyper extension is the goal) but also to prevent scar tissue from developing, After my first surgery I got a little lazy with PT & paid the price, they had to open me back up & remove it that REALLY sucked but anyway best of luck with recovery & we're pullin' for ya !!

Had my 1 yr follow up today.
The doc said the knee & stryker prothesis looked great.
Good range of motion & muscle development seeing how now my knee bends without any pain!!!
    My doctor is the best!
I do not have to go back for another year.

Was the stryker a total replacement?
Usually you have a vert. scar from above the knee cap all the way down the front??
    Glad it is doing well.
Slow and steady on the rehab.

    Thank you.
yes it was a total knee.
My dr. does a different technique with my visible scar being on the outside of my leg on the side of my knee cap, not down the front.
I started working with him in 2008. His practice is about an hour from me & chose him specifically for his replacement work. My physical therapists were based locally though after the surgery. They were like what the heck is up with that incision? But quickly liked how it helped with range of motion and recovery.
yes slow and steady. I ride my bike a lot & stretch.

Congrats I had a High tibial osteotomy {sp} basicly cut a wedge into the tibia to change the angle and wear out the inside compartment since the outside was gone. This was done on my right knee to postpone the total replacement, it was rough in the begining and had a lot of complications and one year later after infections and 5 more surgeries for related problems I went back to work. suposed to be 6 weeks!

My left hip replacement went great after all the knee crap I was not sure I wanted to do it but 6 weeks and I was back at work. I was walking on it 4 hours after recovery!!

The pain removal was worth it. I am sure you know that now.
Keep on the program it will get better.

wow that is a lot to go through!
    Has the wedge helped?
I was offered something that sounded similiar about 10 yrs ago & opted not to do it. The full replacement was needed because my ACL reconstruction had deteriorated & no longer was there. He did a scope a yr prior to the TKR which started this thread.
I am glad your hip replacement went well too.
Yes the walking right after surgery is a trip. The drugs help immensely but made me very sick since I do not take any. I used a Stress Free Surgery Meditation CD. Plus all my friends at home & on TW prayed a lot for me. That helped a lot!

    Thanks Rich! :)
Thanks Ben! Everyone thoughts and prayers lifted me up for sure! :)

Yes always thinking winter. My neighbor Todd and I are snow addicts. We drive everyone crazy & one of the reasons I got a helmet cam so watch our excursions all summer. lol....
I am just blessed to have fun neighbors & family.
Hope all is well with you, your family and your summer as well.
Too much rain, the lake is too high, no boats on the water its a weird almost summer. Hope it breaks soon for those who depend on the tourism.

I had my 2 yr post op for my knee replacement today.
The doc said the implant x-rays looked great
    Alignment looked great
    My muscle structure has balanced
I can sleep at night, it can rain no pain, hike bike, ski, dance.
I can walk without a limp!
The doctor's incision technique does not cut up the front of the knee cap.
He did a 6-7" half moom shape incision off to the side of my patella.
That promoted greater range of motion and feels very natural not restrictive.
When I bend I do not feel it and you can hardly see it.
Do not have to see him for another 3 yrs!!

It has totally changed my life!
