Cutting 1' off access cab exhaust to fit on regular cab?

    2014 reg cab 4cyl.
    3" fox 2.0 shox, SPC uca's, 3" expedition leaf, Walker Evans wheels, ARE topper
    have had 2 2nd gen 4 cyl reg cab 4x4s, put flowmaster exhaust on 2008, and magna flow on 2014...looking to get another 2014, AFE offers exhaust option for access cab but not reg cab. wondering thoughts on cutting 1' off access cab option and installing on reg cab? my local muff shop guy says no problem, what do y'all think?

    I’d politely ask someone with an Access Cab if you could see how their exhaust is routed under the truck. Take note of hangers and connections. Then compare it to your truck?.
    Your biggest problem may be finding and Access Cab with a 2.7.
    I’d start with PreRunner’s. They could be had the 2.7.

    If your local guy is any good at all with exhaust fabrication. He should be able to make something work.

    The rear tailpipe hanger on the 12-15 trucks is 90 degrees different from the earlier 2nd gens so keep an eye on that when looking for systems. I think several of the exhaust systems for AC or DC trucks can be cut down to fit the regular cab, but look closely at them to make sure. I think the muffler/tailpipe section is the same, you probably just need to cut down the main intermediate pipe that goes into the muffler. If it's a flanged system on both ends of the intermediate pipe, it won't work without cutting and welding the flange back on.
