I'm doing a frame swap on my 97 Tacoma regular cab 2wd. The new frame I got is from a 03 extra cab 4x4 i'v collected almost all the parts I need to make a 4x4 and have plenty of time to do the cab swap this summer. My question is has any one shortened a frame? I'v watched tuns of video and read a lot on this and am feeling prity confident on my skills to do it but dose any one have any tips? Stacy from trucks makes it look easy https://youtu.be/6o2k6QoERio. The pic shows what I'm planning on cutting out. Any advice would be appreciateddownload_20160516_170350.jpg

Vertical Cuts on a frame are never a real good idea .

Just why do you need to cut a frame in half??

Something just is off here .

you have done all your measuring and your installing your cab and bed ??

Trying to do this with a bunch of parts I wish you luck !!

I need to cut it down because it is an extra cab frame and my truck is a regular cab. The complete drive train came from 1 truck. And the suspension is from another.

As for mesurements I've mesured it over a 100 times.

Would diagenl cuts like this be better __/\ /\_ ?

Should never make vertical cuts or welds on a frame. Thats what they teach you in school anyways...

The way shown in video looks good to me though.
