That's surprising. Do they salt the roads out there? I've got a buddy out in Boulder who's got a 3rd gen who says they don't.

Yeah, having the right coil springs and setting the 5100s back down to the stock setting should do a lot for the ride.

Just did this a month ago diablo metal blades are the way to go, also use a cutting fluid too make the blade last longer and make it cut faster and smoother I used wd 40. It wasn't as bad as I thought it was gonna be maybe 15 mins of cutting with my Ryobi compact reciprocating saw and 2 blades total.

Awesome. I've got a big bosch corded sawzall. Should make quick work of them with those diablo blades and fluid like you said.

I got MOOG LCAs for like $100 ea on Amazon. Well worth the hassle of trying to burn out and press and fight and just end up with crappy Polyurethane bushings (hate em!)

Also try and use OEM cam hardware. Nothing aftermarket is any good.

Need to take on more "fun" welding projects. I think next up is a spare tire carrier mounted to the bumper

Yeah I ordered the cam bolts from my local Toyota dealer. I'm probably just going to keep the old LCAs. Spending $200 or more not totally necessarily is not exactly in the budget of broke college kid who works one day a week lol.

But what do you hate about the poly bushings?

They always fail much much sooner then rubber and squeak. They are heavily marketed as "better" but thats mostly because they are cheap and easy to produce in any shape and size. Rubber lasts longer, absorbs bumps and vibration better.

    "always"?

    Interesting superlative you used here.

I've been running the same poly bushings for almost ten years and not once have they squeaked or wore out.

Like anything, they have advantages and disadvantages compared to stock that depend on your use case.

For me, the fact that they theoretically transmit more vibes in my 17 year old pickup truck is barely noticeable, and the fact they can rotate without binding means they don't limit the travel on my mid-travel setup.

Remains to be seen I bought the tires and wheels the rest came along
I have no complaints With my Home Made Poly bushings at 100,000 miles plus on 21 year old truck nor the ones installed on my mid eighties Toyota 4x4`s

I will agree cheap and easy to make !
