So, ive used the search bar and have come up with photos of how someone wanted to cut their Xsporter rack to shorten the vertical posts; but it doesnt appear anyone has posted anything about actually cutting those posts and maybe the best way to do it etc. I ordered one not knowing at the time that this rack wouldnt drop as low as i wanted and i cant make a return on it so, if anyone has some clear direction as to how to tackle this it would be amazing!!

I cut mine about 5 inches. Cause i didnt like how high it was either. I was using a hack saw. Took a few hrs though. I am planning to cut another 2 inches. Now that i bought a dremel i think it will be much faster.

Right on, i saw something about a staggered cut in a previous thread, i take it you just cut it straight across?

Yea pretty much. It would be nice to have some clampdown but besides that measure twice cut once.
