    I would highly recommend anyone with a lift and especially anyone that offroads to give DIY CV axle replacement a try. It's an easy job with the step by step write ups and videos on here and will save you gobs of money over paying a shop that labor.

    Don't need any special tools other than your standard mechanic ones and torque wrench, plus a 35mm socket (assuming the axle nut is the same size as on 1st gens).

    First time I needed an axle replaced, local shop charged me $450 for one side just for labor. I provided the axle. I've since done then myself and have swapped out a half dozen at least, hate to think what that would have cost me if I hadn't done it on my own.
