Posted a few days ago about a shake feel driving off the line. Maybe this is it? Correct me if I’m wrong.
Noticed there’s play on my driver cv axle side (up and down motion, I know in and out is normal). I’ve heard of the East coast bushing but the truck isn’t even lifted it’s stock height.
Could this just be caused by the cv itself going bad? Tia guys

The CV axles should have some play. I didnt watch your video, but a vibe at takeoff is most likely your driveshaft center support bushing. If there's more than 1/4" of play, then it needs to be replaced.

The ECGS bushing is good to replace if you have a vibration and it goes away in 4wd, lifted or not

Just replaced carrier bearing as well as u joints not even 5k ago. I know there’s supposed to be some play in cv but is the play in video normal? Thanks man

I don't think CVs just "go bad" out of the blue. The only thing holding the axle in your diff is a c clip.

That's the normal amount of play. And even if that was the cause you would likely only feel it when you had it in 4x4 on takeoff. There's no load on those when in 2wd, and you need to be going a decent speed to get the vibes that the ECGS bushing solves (which also changes when you put it in 4x4). I highly doubt that the CV's are what's causing your shake.

Lifted or not the driver side cv axle will move a ton like that. The oem needle bearing is a sloppy fitment with the axle. It normally causes a groaning or slight vibration. Not a shaking off the line.

Wouldn't hurt to replace the needle bearing with the ecgs bushing. I think it's a worthwhile upgrade.

Who replaced the u joints and carrier bearing? Did an actual driveline shop do the work?

Yeah I’m taking it to them tomorrow to look it over one last time. It’s not anything crazy but I do want them to look it over. Just wanted to be sure this wasn’t a problem with the play it has. Also will be looking into investing in that ec bushing with the removal kit. Thanks guys

You might try turning your center carrier bearing, rotate the bracket 180*,did that to mine; it changes the front shaft angle. It helped vibration quite a bit. Then went a step farther, and put a 1/4 oz wheel weight with a hose clamp on the front shaft. Will probably have to make a few "trips" under, to move the weight to the best spot.

I added the ecgs bushing when my Cv axle seal went possibly because of the play in the axle its a relatively inexpensive upgrade.

Having the driveshaft balanced by a properly trained and equipped shop is a much better way to go.
