I see in your signature line you have part numbers for the LBJ bolts. Are you running OEM LBJ? I wanted to order a pair and just wanted to check.

    4 run, 2 don't
@Area51Runner has the bolt part numbers ready to copy paste

My part numbers are for OEM LBJ that are supplied with bolts already

And yes, I ran OEM on the old 4Runner. Used 555 for the old Tacoma. I don't use ball joints now

Also in the signature line. You have the dust protectors so the bolts are going to be x8 90119-10933. The LBJs are:
    4333039556 (Passenger Lower Ball Joint)
    4334039436 (Driver Lower Ball Joint)

I honestly cannot recall if they came with a castle nut and cotter pin. I think they do but we're talking like 2 bucks for a castle nut. I'd just order them with the LBJs to CYA.

    9017116050 (Castle Nut for LBJ)
    9538103230 (Cotter Pin)

My OCD won't let me hit 'post reply' until I type it out so.... 37ft lbs ONLY for 90119-10933. 37ft lbs ONLY. No more, no less. Thread locker is your call, I left them dry. :goingcrazy:

    Cheers.

Last question (probably not true). Can I just walk into a local Toyota dealer and get these from the parts counter or is it better to order them online? I just did a dry run of ordering online from McGeorge Toyota (that was first hit in Google search) and the total for all the parts you listed was $252. Does that sound right? Is there a specific online Toyota dealer that TW folks like to use (and most importantly, is there a discount like at Rock Auto)?

If your local dealer is anything like mine, their price will be double what McGeorge's is. Hard to beat Mcgeorge in my experience

Some will price match but mine only will with local competitors

Ok. Thanks. I have no relationship with my Toyota dealer, so I assumed they would be charging full price. I see that McGeorge lists the full price, but then discounts that, so I’ll probably just order from them.

Yeah there's the price then there's whatever markup the dealers want to add on, where I'm at they're notorious for marking up parts esp if you're getting them at the counter

Ok. All set. I added on a CV reboot kit. The whole thing came out to $340 (inc. tax and shipping). I’ve never done LBJs before, so once they come in I’m sure I’ll be asking questions. Thanks!

For future reference, partsouq.com has the lowest price I've come across. It will be coming from Dubai but don't let that cast them in a bad light. Shipping is done via Air and I've had orders arrive in as little as 3 days. McGeorge orders were taking a week+ from time of order to arrive (east coast to west coast I guess) and they only ship via USPS. I also found orders from Toyota of Colorado Springs took less time to arrive (same coast) and were very competitive in price with McGeorge.

    Check them out.

    https://partsouq.com/en/catalog/genuine/locate?c=Toyota

    https://parts.toyotaofcoloradosprings.com/
(It says Baxter Auto Parts but they are 100% genuine toyota parts)

If you run into any issues with install, hit me up via DM and I'll try and help.

Ok, I’ll keep that in my notebook. I’m east coast (NJ) so hopefully the McGeorge shipping won’t take too long. I’m also sick with COVID so I won’t be doing any work on truck until next weekend anyway.

His CV guide ignores the need to remove sway bar links because he deleted the sway bar. I learned this the hard way. Best to remove before jacking the truck up and might need replacement links depending on how rusted/worn the Allen socket is.

Thank you. I’m on Day 5, and definitely feeling a bit better. The first couple of days were the worst.

Ok. Good to know. I’m assuming if they need replacing, OEM is the way to go?

I did passenger CV 2 days ago and had to remove the link. Haven’t settled on replacement but I’m curious to hear what others say. I’d rather not spend a bunch on premium links but best price/perf would be nice to know. I’m not driving for now until I figure that out.

Here’s a video that details removing the sway bar link. It’s extremely informative and his advice for installing the new CV was super helpful.

    4 run, 2 don't
    Hopefully this helps the OP.

I've read many people having issues with their sway bar, or removing them whether it was the entire assembly or the end links.

Guess it depends on what the end links were replaced with cause aftermarket sets differ.

Mine zipped right off within a few minutes without issue on both vehicles, yet others fight to get anything even loosened up.
