My front left CV Axle boot busted. Want to replace the whole Axle. I do not have much car mechanic experience, but am comfortable with power tools and jacks. Is this something I can replace on my own or should I not risk it? Was quoted $450 for the replacement. Can get the entire assembly remanufactured and greased up for $100.

If you have a 35mm socket and a torque wrench that goes to 175 ft/lbs, it’s definitely something you can do.
If you’ve done them before, you can have it done in less than an hour.

If you’ve never done it, 2 hours.
