Does anyone happen to know the thread pitch on the CV axle? I mucked up the very first set of threads on the end. I was hoping I could take care of it with a thread file, and knowing the correct pitch would be a good start.

I think I answered my own question. Don't quote me on it, but I believe it's 1.50.

Matco makes a cv axle rethread tool. You can beat the shit out of the threads on a half shaft and that tool will make it like new

FYI...if you're hitting the end of the CV axles to push them into the differential, keep the axle nut threaded on the end. It will prevent the threads from getting messed up by the hammer
