I have a 1999 Tacoma 4wd V6 with manual locking hubs and a manual transmission. I snapped my driver side axle in the differential. Luckily I was able to get it all out but now I am having issues getting the new axle to stay inside the differential. When I put the new axle it it popped in normally, fully seated. When I went to test drive it the axle came out the differential immediately . Not completely, but enough to make some HARSH grinding noises. I have read stuff about the ecgs bearing but is there anything else it can be? thank you.

Shit bolted onto other shit, and junk.
If you snapped your CV inside the spider of the diff then your needle bearing is absolutely F’d. Check the spider gear and make sure the 29 splines look clean and STRAIGHT. I would either replace the diff or go with a bushing from ECGS. That part is a must if you plan to keep.

any pics of the debris? Was the break within the male spline region of inboard side of the CV?
