Those of you that have removed your birfield joint (with force) from the axle shaft have probably broken their circlip in half just like I did. So, what did you find for a replacement? Toyota seems to only sell them in the CV Re-Boot Kit as far as I can tell.

I ordered a 27-spline and 30-spline version from Trail Gear in attempts to find a fit but I'm not entirely sure how snug they should be. The 30-spline is WAY too loose but the 27-spline seems like it may do the trick.

I dont think a square shouldered clip will work in our axles. Me thinks they need to be rounded. Have u tried reinstalling the axle? I would think it would hang up and not click in.

It is the rounded one that I'm talking about. That's just a picture I grabbed off google of a toyota pickup axle.

    Update
Trail Gear, Inner Axle C-Clip, 27-Spline.
    SKU: TG140330-1

Seemed to be a close fit, if not just a tad on the loose side. Upon re-installing the birfield joint, it tightened up and appears to be holding just fine. I attempted to pull the two apart by muscle and nothing budged. I'm assuming it did the trick. Hopefully this comes in handy to someone else!
