    Silverback has broken a set of those fuckers and swears up and down the OEMs are better built.

    Run OEMs and carry a spare or two.

    buy good used or worn and rebuild them... not that bad

    You can find them being sold with ripped boots for 75 to 100 an axle.

    Sink $30ish into a re-booting kit form your dealer, and you've got OEM axles for 100 to 150 per axle, plus a few hours of your time.

    thats an option. I will go that route if I ever have trouble with these axles, but i doubt I will.

    its just an opinion... i like oem stuff on my truck because i do stuff like this.

    The only effective long tern solution is to reduce the axle angle. You will continue to have problems until you do. Having more than 3" of lift is the core problem. My solution was to hang an extra 200 lbs of armor, bumper and winch onto the front of my truck. :D

    Because of design differences, 1" diff drops are significantly more effective on 1st gens compared to what they do on 2nd gens.
