cv boot replacement?

    my driver side lower boot is leaking grease, a local shop says its best to replace axel shaft assembly if they go in this far. how long can i drive with it like this. is a week safe? mack, tacoma 02,

    You can drive it like that for a week. Just don't go stomping it inthe mud or anything crazy.

    i drove my truck...wheeled it...beat on it...for several months with both of my CVs blowing grease...not leaking...full on puking...

    the passenger side finally gave up on a wheeling trip...the drivers side is a trail spare now because it still works

    When I bought this 4runner, all 4 boots were shredded and I'm not sure how long they were like that before I got it.

    thanks for the help guys, i noticed it when i was checking my brakes today. thats also a problem i got. my front shakes really bad when i hit the brakes, i just put the second new set of rotors and pads on. the same shop said i could be getting warped rotors from the parts store.
