Before and after, slid them about 3/4 inch and it’s no longer rubbing on 2-3/4”ish lift

The answer is to fly around the world backwards like Superman so you can go back in time and kick the silly idea of a big truck envy 3" lift to the curb and go with a CV friendly 2" lift. But that's just me, a guy with super powers. Your mileage may vary.

I wouldn’t call it big truck envy 3” lift, for some of us that extra inch is a whole lot

I have a 2” lift. Or it should be once all settled.

    Welcome
    To the shiny boot club.

I wouldn’t stretch those boots out too much, when the suspension extends so do those shafts and that’s how they tear

Update on this. Had my 15k service done, and had the tech (also into lifted/modded tacos and has one of his own) check out the boots. He said the diff drop won’t lower it enough to not touch and that he wouldn’t worry about it unless I’m doing some regular, crazy off roading. Said it comes with the territory and the wear is normal. Guess the shiny wear ring is commonplace to his eyes and he wasn’t concerned.

When your boot was touching did you guys hear like a belt squealing sound. After my lift I hear it. My boots are older from 2011.

No, it won’t make any noises. I’d start your search for the noise elsewhere.

Stock with a camper shell for now.
Since you did this mod and used the factory cv clamps have you had any issues with leaking or slipping?

I only got the 2" Lift, boots are fine thanks for asking. Good enough for 33" tires and much less chance of front end wear.
