So I ordered some cv's from cvj and they arrived today!! I've been reading about diff drops lately and not sure if they are worth it.

Are diff drops necessary? I've got a 2001 extra cab with a 2.5" OME lift. My current inner boots are torn, will a diff drop help or hurt my situation? (Pros/cons?) I don't want to be installing and replacing boots and cv's all the time.

If they are worth it or helpful, which brand/set up is the best?? Can I install my cv's now and the diff drop later or is it easier to do both at once??

Please any advice is appreciated, Thanks!!!

They tend to help with vibes more than they help with angles, although it does very slightly. When I installed mine it did reduce vibes I had in the front.

Good to know, what brand did you use and how long was the install time? Can you still run stock trd skid plates with a diff drop?

And if it's in your build bread, do you know what page it's on on the top of your head?

I think mine is Toytec brand. It doesn't matter though, they're all the same really.

Yeah, the stock skids still fit with a little bit of maneuvering.

Unfortunately it's not in my build thread, but it's very simple to do. You just remove your skids, take out the stock bolts insert the spacers and the extended bolts and you're done.
