Hey I have a 01 tacoma with a total of 12inch lift. My problem is the high angle on the cv joints cause my boots to tear. Is there anyway around ssolid axle swapping it? I was wondering if anyone had any helpful advice? Since im not too familiar with independent front ends I figured I would ask. Is there such a thing is a high angle cv joint kit? Thanks ahead of time for any helpful advice.

12" is too much for these trucks

"alternative to SAS" would be to lower your truck.

there are high angle boots but they would not help you. Those boots are for 3" lift angles.

12" means you have a DB lift and are running another 6" on top of that (which is crazy bad for your suspension) or are running some other combo (which would be even worse)

    pics of your setup?

There are high angle boot kits but most are for the outer cv boots and not the inner boots that you need. I ordered a high angle boot kit for the inners but the boot didn't fit right for my inner boots. My suggestion is to lower the lift, install a diff drop and try the boot slide mod.

Does an 01 have locking hubs on the front? If not, then your front axle shafts (at least one side) are spinning all the time. The early first gens had hubs that could be disengaged so the axles didn't spin when in 2WD. If you don't already have locking hubs, installing them could take a lot of wear off the boots by making them spin only when actually in 4WD.

Stick on hood scoop from Autozone.
12 inches? Lower it about 9 inches, that should help your CV angles.

What I was trying to say is he might be able to convert to the older front end parts with manual hubs. If he did that, there would be no rotation in the front end while in 2wd with hubs disengaged. That would mean no wear on those boots while on the street.
