Had some knocking in the front drivers side of my truck when the suspension would go to droop. Got home and the inner cv axle boot is blown and there is grease slung up everywhere. Is there anything else I should be replacing when I do this CV axle? Im new to CV's I've always had solid axle trucks.

Toytec coilovers. Height adjustable Bilstein's. 265/75/16 MT. TRD wheels. Rebuilt r150f. Marlin clutch kit. All kinds of new parts...
Check out your ball joints. Wheel bearing should be good but worth a look. There is a bearing upgrade for the differential. Would be a good time to do that. That's all stuff you'd want to do to the other side as well... Shoot - might as well lift it! lol

Just put a lift kit/diff drop and and new UCA's recently. Probably what led to the failure of the CV axle boot if i were to guess

Take a good look at the oil seals at the ends of the differential. If there's signs of leaking, this would be the opportune time to replace them. I've got a couple videos that might help you out with the repair. For the CV reboot video, the boot stretch mod is just an option if you have a lifted truck and have been experiencing premature boot tearing due to the boot ribs rubbing. It's too bad your OEM shaft is shot because they are superior to anything aftermarket. Maybe a set of Napa CV axles with the lifetime warranty would be your best bet.

    Good luck with the repair.

To prevent this from happening again this is an option:

Called oreileys, asked about a cv axle, they asked if it was 2wd or 4wd lmfao! Just gonna slap the oreileys brand in it, may not be the best quality, but it's got a lifetime warranty and they're everywhere

I think generally, the NAPA ones are gonna be the best "aftermarket" ones with a lifetime warranty

I have adjustable coil-overs and I only went high enough to where I didn't see my aftermarket Napa CV axle boot ribs rubbing together. I have the same thing. Diff drop helped but I only raised the front about 2". The boot ribs only touch each other when I have the wheel cranked. Having manual hubs I save some of their measely life sa well :) Aftermarket boots are a good bet for anything higher than 2" I'd say. Kind of a pain tearing all that crap apart every year lol

Check out CVJ axles with the Silicon inner boots. AFter the core they're only a little more than NAPA ect. I went through O'rielly's boots like water. The CVJ's are holding up just fine.
Replace the oil seal while you're in there. They're like $15 each and super easy to replace. Also maybe replace your four lower ball joint bolts.
