    Went camping! Not exactly out in the middle of nowhere, but had a great time on the first use and trial run. CVT MT. Hood was outstanding. Deployment and packing the tent was quick and painless. I left the sleeping bags in the tent but positioned them on the fixed side for folding. Ensuring that they would remain flat when the tent was closed.
    Thank you Bobby!

    I finally took delivery on my tent today and the box had what looked like minor shipping-rash and turns out that there were 2 holes through the outer aluminum base.....
    I encourage everyone to open it before you sign for it.... I think I was lucky that I called within 10 mins from when it was dropped off and FedEx accepted the refusal and send the same truck to pick it up right away... in most cases if you sign for it you are screwed...

    Ouch! That sucks.
    Good advice though. I have received many packages through UPS that look like the truck must have rolled!

    Having just used my tent, I can say it is worth waiting for. I wish you a fast replacement.

    :eek: Bummer! Sorry your tent got mangled....I think they could ship them in solid plate steel crates and the shipping people would still find a way to mess them up!

    And you were lucky that they came back to get it. Inspect first then sign for it.

    Thanks guys/gal...
    As you can see in the pic, it didn't looked like major damage but just a little box/shipping rash
    ...it fool me
    Bobby said you have up to 20 mins to inspect your package before you have to sign for it or refuse it...

    I'm trying to decide whether I would have refused that tent or not, given what I now know after owning one for a month and considering how far out a replacement might be.

    Mine has some cosmetic imperfections on the outer skin, and it really isn't a big deal. The material is a relatively thin plastic-coated aluminum skin and is fairly susceptible to dings and scrapes that pose no threat to structural integrity, even if punctured. It is super easy to seal a small hole with something like a polyseamseal caulking, leaving only a minor cosmetic imperfection. Off you go in search of adventure rather than standing by and waiting for the next tracking number.

    Wait till you see what happens to it while stored in your garage! I can't wait to get mine mounted on my ceiling hoist and out of harm's way!

    I would imagine that if it were me, I would want mine to be near perfect upon arrival as well, but I don't think I'd be willing to write off a number of weeks of use at this critical time of year. I think I'd probably be seen running down the street, frantically waving for that delivery truck to stop and come back to my house!

    I hope you get a replacement sooner rather than later. :)

    I hear you... it did not compromise much but after paying that nice chunk of change I want something in perfect condition. ...

    I agree, any damage should be your own. Paid for a new product!

    Reminds me of a story; I asked my gf not to hit her purse on my truck when she gets in.... she rebuttals by saying "what about all these tree scraps"..... My truck, my damage HAHA

    hahaha... I park mine as far and alone as possible in public parking lots and my wife it's all like "are you serious? You always almost flipping the truck when you go wheeling....and you got pin stripes. .blah blah blah" I tell her that there must be a good story and pic or video if possible for these stripes and dents not just for me to come out of the super market to find that some asshole and/or his kids dented the shit out of my car...

    Posted this over on Expo so figured I would share here.

    Just spent four nights in my Shasta and I am very happy! Started the trip with a girlfriend and ended it with a fiancée. She was a big fan of the tent too!

    Set up every night and took down every morning to go explore. Amazed at how fast it sets up with two people. Don't see what people complain about when having to put it up and down. The annex was very handy for the girlfriend changing. When we go camping in a more remote place it will be a convent place to keep the Lug-a-Loo and Zodi shower. No need to set up the annoying privacy tent I had purchased before.

    Only complaints;

    The mattress caused a couple of back aches. I am getting old and need more padding. Plan on getting a 1" mattress topper to keep inside.

    Second, and mostly my fault, the zipper can get stuck pretty easily. The morning I was leaving the zipper on the cover got caught and going back and forth only got the fabric stuck worse. I couldn't get to the zipper good because it was up against the cab. Stupidly I kept pulling until the pull broke and scraped my hand across the rail mounts. The result;
    vy3abe5a_c5eced8c4882eaefe9e5e75c362f7d952672aa2b.jpg

    Need to buy a new pull and fix it. Just be careful when zipping the cover on!

    All in all, very happy with the tent!

    BTW, anyone know it the condensation mat adds any padding?
