I just bought all new hardware and also purchased some anti-sieze to put on them when I reinstall. Just a little frustrating having the pieces round out inside the aluminum slide piece. Upon further inspections, it looks like the hole was not drilled in the center of the aluminum piece allow it to "strip" out easier when loosening than it did when tightening... if that makes sense.

I already have a call into CVT about the cover not fitting, but based on other responses on here, it looks like I may be waiting a while for a call back.

What ladder do you all have?

Does your cover have zipper and Velcro or zipper only?

Im glad im not the only one. My cover on my mt. Shasta is also a really tight fit. I did take the ladder off and the cover fit fine. I take the ladder off to park under neath my carport. Its a very close fit. With the ladder on im afraid im going to bust the zipper or material. But ill have my make a call and see what they say.

And you have which ladder? The telescoping version or the two-piece slider?

Bobby mentioned to some people already that some tents were shipped with the telescoping ladder cover, not the cover for the two piece ladder. If your cover looks tight like the one that was just showed you need to talk to Bobby and he will take care of you

Yeah it have the sliding ladder so I must have been sent the wrong cover then. I already left a message for Bobby earlier today, waiting for a call back. Probably be next week. I might just take the ladder off for this weekend then.

Does your cover just have the flat top to it and not raised to fit the ladder?

If memory serves, you were a very early order in the GB, right? Seems I tried to get on a pallet with you and a Co Spgs guy or two.

I wonder if the early GB shipments had cover issues.

I am writing to let you know we did receive the wrong covers on 40 tents. They will work till we get the new ones in but they are very tight. You do have the right cover just missing the ladder cutout in the cover. We noticed this after an install that the covers were tight. With that being said I did notice that there is no room for the ladder in the cover. It is made for telescoping not sliding. Called the factory and they are sending all new covers to me. They will be here this month. Also I had a couple of bolts weld up on us the other day and had to cut them off. I also had this problem when I went to Fastenal and bought some stainless bolts. That if I ratchet them to fast they heat up and weld together...Crazy! So I go slower ratcheting them and that has worked. Also if you have any of your aluminum sliding pieces that strip out please let me know and we will ship out some new ones.
I will also be sending out new straps with the covers also.
If you have this style of cover please just pm me and I will get you on the list and get these out to you once they drop.
We are truly sorry for the inconvenience that this causes.

This sucks and we are sorry for the trouble. I will send you out a new set today so you can have them by the weekend. We went to take one of a rig the other day and had to cut them off also. It welded together I believe from tightening to fast. We did it with some new ones from Fastenal also and could not get them all the way tightened and they welded together and cut them off also. This sucks. Next set went slower and it worked. I hate paying a lot of money for good bolts and they weld up. Thankfully they just gave me new ones. Please pm me your address and we will get it out today.

    Thanks,

    Bobby

Are them stainless bolts?? If so you have to use anti seize in them. Stainless sucks for that

I will second the use of anti-sieze on the stainless hardware. I used that on the new set of bolts that I purchased. Just make sure you use some gloves when you use the anti-sieze, it is one of those things that manages to get everywhere when you use it! I think I even have some on the tent cover now!

Bobby, I sent you a PM regarding the cover on my tent.

Yeah it's called gauling when stainless hardware does that. Definitely want to take it slower.

I used anti-seize on mine and they still did that. I went to ACE and bought some new bolts and different way to mount for round tubing.

Same here on the cover. Not so bad to put it on if it's hot out. Hard as hell in the morning. Thanks for taking care of that Bobby.
