So I’m thinking about buying the CX Racing Turbo Manifold kit. What do you guys think? Is there other options I should consider? Do any of you have it installed?

I was looking at that kit when I was in the market to increase power. It is a very nice looking kit. What you might want to look into is all the piping that will be required to have a turbo. A lot of modification is going to be needed to get the system to work. Do you have the ability or the tools to make the modifications necessary to get the system installed? If not, do you know of anyone or company that is willing to do the work for you? What is the cost? A turbo would be really cool, but is all the work really worth it?
Next thing to look in to is tuning. Do you have the ability to tune the ECM to make the turbo happy? Do you have the software and training? Tuning takes a lot of time and a shit ton of trial and error. Do you have access to a dynamometer? Have you priced what a local session would cost?

Forced induction is really cool, but it does come with some steeeeeeep learning curves. Before you drop money on anything, do yourself a favor and get a list together of all of what you are going to need and the prices.

From looking at the web site They look like a new Company .No Reviews ??

Being they are on the other side of the country I have never heard of them.

If your truck lives where it does not see winter chemicals the installing might not be to hard .

If your getting the Kit with the intercooler around $1800.00seems really cheap imported South East Asia parts??

I was not impressed by the warranty or lack of.

When I had my Turbo rebuilt on my 7.3 it was close to $1000.00 back a few years ago.

Have you rebuilt the engine lately or plan on when and if you go with the turbo ??

Best of Luck if you go this way .

Cxracing has been around for a long time (that's a relative statement but imo for what they sell, they have been long lived).

TLDR, you could do far worse, for the money they are great.

I have this kit in boxes because when it came out I got freaked out it wouldn't be out long so jumped on getting a kit even though I wasn't sure when and how I would install it to make a twin charged system.

I have their NA-T kit on my IS300, it works, works well.

I will be going with their IS300 GTE kit after my swap.

There is an AEM FIC thread where there are at least 2 or 3 members in it running this kit.

You have to identify their stuff as it is, it has good bones- the manifolds, charge piping, intercoolers, good stuff. The auxiliary parts like the turbo, waste gate, oil drain etc, you might want to upgrade those. You might have to tweek things like MAF location but again, for the money it gets you off to a great start. Back to the IC I think I've seen an IS300 post up he ran into IAT temps making him want a better IC, so yeah it's not the bee's knees top shelf cores, but it gets you started. Crank up the boost massively, you are playing a different game. Regardless with TC efficiency and having an IC you are already way better off than the SC kit.

I did a solid copper to small flex tube oil drain on my IS300, their cheap line and it running through and on manifold runners was scary. But I remember when 'meh' IS300 turbo kits ran $10k, so it's a God send to get a kit with a solid tubular manifold and IC kit that fits good for that price, then upgrade other stuff as needed or as preferred.

CX smartly stays out of the fuel upgrade and EMS game and just makes the hardware. Like @CD20H said, there is the steeeep learning curve of EMS. Look at my build going between two piggies and the tricks and nuances to them both.

Lastly a complication for me besides CA smog and twin charging is their IC setup. For thier 4x4 kits I think their R&D really screwed the pooch. Thier J80 kit and this kit has the coolers dangling down below the bumpers, I think you can't even put the skid back on. If you are rocking a bumper like relentless, elite, cbi etc, fitment will be impossible. I would have to figure out a whole different routing option and maybe have to use water to air. These are geared for 100% street trucks.

There are some DIY turbo kits on this forum where members cut and welded the bar behind our grill to fit small thick coolers there, so there are options, but price increases is you try to keep some level of 4x4 use-case in mind.
