I mean I'm running it on Ultra with a measly Zotac Amp! GTX1060 and have little issue. Don't know if 32GB of RAM helps out here, but it helps running servers for other games.
Intel i7-9700k too. I wouldn't say its high end by any means but it does well enough and if I upgrade my GPU when prices are so crap it should be good for a while.
    I don't need 4k or any of that. I use a 37" 1080p TV as a monitor...

    Looks good to me.

You can get a 2k Tv/monitor for dirt cheap.

Define cheap? Over $100 isn't my definition.

If you're not willing to spend over $100 dollars for a monitor then you shouldn't be playing video games.

My 37" TV cost $70 and looks just fine still 11 years later. Why would I spend several hundred on a monitor that I'll spend 3 times as much for half the size. To make a slight improvement in graphical appearance? Hard Pass. That money can go into the truck.

You've never played anything above 60 Hz, have you? Night and day difference in both playability and fatigue. Once you go high refresh rate, you'll never go back.

Then there's adaptive sync. Also worth the coin.

Heck, why have 32 GB of ram and a 9700K if you're just going to run a 1060? By your own logic that's a complete mismatch and total waste.

You lost me on the first sentence.

On another note I’ve been playing it on the PC and the game is ok. If it wasn’t a CDPR game and I didn’t “wait” this long to play it I probably would of stop.

The story isn’t captivating, lack of cutscenes, game mechanics are lacking to say the least etc. I’m giving it the chance by finishing it and hopefully the DLC makes a big improvement.

Got em cheap. I'm all about budget. I'll end up with a 30 series card once the market stabilizes. I won't drop 1500 on a card. As for 60Hz? I don't know. I've played on regular monitors before, but I'm so used to big screen now that I don't notice any difference on refresh rates between this old thing and some newer actual monitor. I mean ffs I'm still running off an HDMI cable. I know going forward I'll have to move to something with Displayport, but for the time being, I'm perfectly content. I like running fast and I run servers for modded games so the RAM is justified and the upgrade from a 4700k to the 9700k was cheap when taking advantage of several deals. TV's will always be cheaper than monitors, but as I said, Displayport will be what forces me to upgrade. At that point I'll be getting two to four monitors and will have the fun coupons to do so. Right now, cheap is under $100. I built both my wife and I's computers to the same spec and she doesn't even hardly play games but her old computer was old dell or hp prebuilt trash. I can't justify money for marginal differences. Maybe some day. Everyone's priorities are different.

same, imo this isn't worth $50, maybe $25. All I've been doing lately is walking/driving around looking for gangs so I can use the cyber cyberpsychosis or grenade detonation and watch the show. mostly been playing showrunner or other games. I'm hoping the dlc improves the game.

I was like that too, played on a tv for years. Finally spent the coin on a good 2k monitor oh boy its a night and day difference.

To each their own though. I probably wouldn't of spent so much on a monitor if I wasn't into fps games.

I can't justify it till this thing craps out or I upgrade to a card without HDMI. Old ass Hiteker 37". Works just fine and only has one dead pixel in 11 years.

TBH you can't play Apex, CS, OW, BF, COD, etc, etc now without at least a 144hz panel with a decent keyboard and mouse. There's good YouTube videos now even showing average players hitting increasing their hit ratio by 50% or more simply by going from 60hz to 144hz. Go to 240 Hz and you gain less but still another 10ish%.

I can get the money savings though. I spent a cool $800 on my monitor, though to me it only makes sense because the card driving it was worth almost double that and the new card I have now is worth triple. I always advocate balancing equipment. A 1060 at 60hz is fine, but with a 30 series he's definitely going to want to at least look at the low to mid end high refresh panels.

30 series cards have HDMI. Actually in a year or so we should see most monitors sporting HDMI 2.1 support which will enable a lot of DP 1.4a functionality. HDMI isn't going to die on graphics cards because it still makes sense for most VR applications for a pile of reasons. Cyberpunk is just one game that looks awesome with HDR though. Totally worth.

i dont really believe that hype at all. my friend plays on a jank lg tv that runs in 720p at best and he averages a 3.0 kd in cod. If you suck at fps games a good monitor isnt going to make you better lol

The science is there though and a bunch of independent reviewers have done it before. You buddy might be 3.0 kd in COD at 60hz (resolution, who cares) but 4.5 at 144hz.

If you're K/D is 0.5 going to 0.75 isn't going to make you feel better. If you're hitting 10% of your attempted headshots and start hitting 15%, ditto. 50% sounds like a lot but it's not going to turn someone from newb to pro. It will give an average player a slightly better chance though every time they play PvP FPS.

I didn't buy much into it until I stated playing Apex. When I first got the game I had an older 144hz TN panel. I did fine, K/D around 0.7 (I'm not amaze balls at the game and knocks don't count as kills), and never really thought about it. In 2018 I bought a superultra wide, because I thought the POV would be sweet for immersion and I wouldn't need a second monitor for work on my main PC anymore, but the 60 hz refresh absolutely killed the experience for me. I fell to around a 0.5 k/d. So 2019 when the Samsung G7 drops (240 hz at 1440P) I immediately snag one, literally pre-ordered the first one Memory Express got. K/D is not around 1 and I find everything easier to hit especially with one shot rifles. So yeah, I'm a believer for sure. Now it's not all the 240hz over 144hz or even 60hz. It's also that my new panel has almost no motion blur. The accuracy of pixel transitions is amazing, it's the first VA panel that actually can match it's refresh rate. The old 144hz TN panel I had, from 2014ish, couldn't keep up to it's refresh rate and showed some smearing. Smearing really hurts flick shots.

Here's Linus who did a pretty good job with turning it from hype into science. Well, he did it twice but his second attempt was more thorough.

    https://youtu.be/OX31kZbAXsA

They talk a lot about matching hardware. Which is why just buying a high refresh rate monitor doesn't always yield results. You need to drive enough frames and have input that can keep up with whatever you're seeing.

I've seen the videos and im not denying the science behind it, just saying if your bad your bad. hardware wont turn you into shroud
games like cs are most definitely unplayable on a 60hz monitor, cod is more forgiving, probably because its catered to console players.

Couldn't it just be that over the time it took to test they just got better experienced with the games? That's a hard experiment to have a true unchanging skill factor.

No, a couple of the players were seasoned veterans and they switched back and forth between systems so as not to adjust to any one setup. The end test, where they all have to flick shot against each other, is a very good indication of the advantage of the right matched hardware because even the score pretty much dead on reflected the equipment the players were on when skill was taken into account. Shroud has a little interview at the end where he says exactly what we're saying. If you're ass no equipment will help, but if you're good or on par with your opponents than the advantage will go to the player with better frame rates and a higher frequency monitor.

Anywho in Cyberpunk it doesn't matter much but feels better on the eyes. Trust me. Once Covid is over if you have a decent computer shop nearby they usually have demos on the floor to help show this, though of course they are a lot more slanted than Linus.

I have grown bored with it. I haven't played this week. Back to Daily Red Dead Redemption 2 online.

Even without the bugs on PC there is too much predictability. Same bad guys always in the same place. Shoot and everyone cowers in the same position. No random NPC interaction.

I read earlier that the daily maximum simultaneous players has dropped from 1.3 million to 140 thousand.

I will wait and see if this upcoming update is as great as they say it is.
