this thread isn't dedicated to expensive bikes or "rich" people. I got these bikes by trading up while making very little as a bike shop mechanic.

It's actually pretty cool...It only takes a couple of minutes to "assemble"... but it costs $400.00 (when it first came out)

I don't believe in getting rebranded bicycles like the Porsche, jeep, or hummer. I think you can get a better value by going with a bicycle brand.

thats true.....i just like the idea that it folds. (i don't know how reliable it would be in the long run though..)

You want folding go with Dahon (available at Camping World, and through most bike shops as a special order). Been doing it longer than anyone else, and are pretty reliable for a folding bike, but still heavy as hell.

My Taco is being used as a $18,000 power plant for my compressor which had a dead battery.

This bike has been through hell and back more times than I'd like to admit. Still hasn't died completely. Though I havn't rode it in a year becaus it needs a new rear rim.

The new Costco Mountain bike. Its cheap (less than $300) so its kinda heavy, but so far its been reliable to me.

That is one wicked looking setup. This was my inspiration for the bike rack I built (definitely not as complicated or cool)...

your setup is the one I am after.what Yakima bike rack mounted on the cross rails. Are the cross rails from the dealer, or someplace online? I've been searching, are those the ones from trdparts4u.com? How is the build quality, and how exactly do they attach to the bed rails, do they use the cleats that came with the truck? Also, how did you mount the bike rack to the rails, did you have to do any drilling, or was is a pretty straight forward set up where all the parts played nice nice with each other? I just bought my first road bike, a Trek limited edition Discovery Channel bike which I think is based off of the 1.2 set-up, so it's pretty basic, but should be a good starting point, and I think I got a deal with the price, only paid a hair over 530 bucks - bike was used, only had a few miles on it, story was guy buys bike for wife, bike too big, guy sells bike, I buy bike. Should have it by Friday, and since I like to take pictures, I'll post a few up here.

NICE!!! I raced DH in Japan from 01-04, I never realized I was saving the chain. I actually just sold my DH rig and started doing AM/FR stuff again. Peddling does suck though.

I grew up with Schwinn Bikes. Here are two I just added to my vintage collection, found for free at the local recycle center. They were thrown in the metal dumpster. The center's worker fished them out for me since they were on top. Took em home in the Tacoma, blew up the tires and they both worked beautifully even the speedo! One is 1963 American (With the rack) & the other a yet to be determined Breeze.

I ride a 2008 GF Rig, it is a 29er SS. Yes I am a pedal masher and love every minute of it, I also have a GF Marlin as my trasher. I am in the process of getting a nice carbon DH but still trying them on for size and finding the one that has the geo that I like.

Anyone in WI area ever want to ride just hit me up my riding buddy moved and my wife as much as I love her just doesnt float my boat as a good riding buddy (she loves to make sure her brakes work properly) HAHA

If she reads this I LOVE YOU BABE

Does anyone know if the new 29er mountain bikes will fit in the back of a short bed using the OEM fork mount, or similar system?
