This was my first ride on these. They worked great in all conditions. Thinkin this bike is about where it's gonna stay. (except the 105 cranks going on it) With 11-28 gearing it leans more towards roadish vs. offroadish. I mainly bought it to ride greenbelts/doubletrack/sidewalks/light trails, a road bike that I don't have to ride in traffic. It will handle some offroad but kinda found my limit of major offroad with it this wknd in hill country. I don't really dig rocky danger stuff clipped in with drop bars and skinny tires, lol...and the gearing isn't ideal for offroad. I have several other bikes that are much more fun in that realm.

what do you all lube your chain with? When I was a kid I lived on my bike and oiled the chain with 10 w40. Never had to replace a chain. Now it seems like there are too many opinions and options.Thought I would get a few more....

I still use the white lightning clean ride on my chains. Never had issue or any fuss to clean them. Just wet it down while spinning backwards, it sheds dirt, wipe it clean. Do this a coupla times then coat it and leave it. Works great and no dirty hands if you touch the chain for any reason.

right now I use dumonde tech but have used finish line dry and rock n roll gold.

Dumonde tech is great, lasts long but your chain needs to been cleaned really well before application. Finish line is the easiest to apply but doesn't last as long as dumonde tech.

Out of the sling working on mobility with the arm now and then hopefully back in the saddle in a week or so. Finally got a replacement helmet. Literally just went with another volt. More expensive then the last one I ordered not sure why. But it's on it's way.

This morning I got up and ran 3 miles before work. As I was coming back to my garage my helmet showed up :-/ I just stood there thinking. Couldn't have shown up about 45 min ago?

    Cannot wait until tomorrow morning.

Of the helmet? It's just a volt r. It's the same one I was wearing during my crash so I figured it it did its job then another will do just as well. Plus light as can be and comfortable.

First ride yesterday after I got off work. Felt amazing. Did 27 miles before I couldn't do anymore and had to call in ground support and get Stacey to come get me. But damn was it nice. It was about 92-94 outside and not too humid but somewhat. Only issue I had was climbing it out a lot of pressure on my shoulder for some reason. But I made it.image.jpgimage.jpg

Quick glance of the 2014 volt r (white) and the 2016 volt r (grey)

Give this a try. A little pricey, and takes a while to properly lube the chain, but it is the best I've found so far.
